S. Sudanese rally in TA against pending deportation

As deportation looms at the end of the month, over a thousand South Sudanese migrants and their supporters rallied in Tel Aviv on Saturday, to ask for more time to remain in Israel before returning to South Sudan.
Titled "South Sudan is dangerous," the rally was held against the backdrop of an announcement made at the end of January by the Population, Immigration, and Borders Authority, which said that because South Sudanese now have their own country, and one that has friendly relations with Israel, they have until April 1st to leave Israel willingly or face deportation. The announcement also stated that those who leave before the deadline will receive a 1,000-euro stipend per adult, an offer that will be void come April 1.
