Schalits lobby MKs to sign letter pushing PM to accept swap

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni on Wednesday refused a request by Noam and Aviva Schalit to sign a letter calling on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to accept a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas that would secure the release of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Schalit.

Likud MK Yariv Levin also refused to sign the letter, saying that Hamas must understand there is a price that Israel is not willing to pay, Israel Radio reported.

The Schalits were expected to meet with additional MKs to lobby support for their campaign to pressure Netanyahu to take steps to free their son.
