Second Fogel family killer convicted

The Samaria Military Court convicted Monday 19-year-old Amjad Awad of Awarta village of murdering five Fogel family members in the Itamar settlement last March.

Amjad was accused of stabbing to death Udi, 36, his wife Ruth, 35, and their children Yoav, 11, Elad, 4 and the 3-month-old Hadas. His cousin, Hakim Awad, assisted in the murders by restraining the children while they were slaughtered, and shooting their mother after Amjad stabbed her.

Hakim was sentenced to five life sentences for the murders in September.

According to Israeli media, Amjad was also convicted of five counts of murder, two counts of weapons trafficking, and conspiracy to commit murder.
