Secondary Teachers’ Association renews sanctions cancelling all school field trips

The Secondary Teachers’ Association renewed its strike on Sunday, cancelling all annual class trips and all activities outside school premises until further notice.

The decision to renew the strike and cancel all trips beginning March 1, 2015 was announced by the Association last week after they stated that negotiations with the Education Ministry to meet their demands had failed to progress.

The Association initially announced the sanctions in January in an effort to place pressure on the Education Ministry to meet their demand that they not be liable for any criminal charges regarding the students' safety and well-being on school trips.
