Solider who shot British peace activist to be released

Taysir Hasb, a soldier who fatally shot a British peace activist, will be released from prison one and a half years early, a military committee ruled today.
Twenty-two year-old Tom Hurndall was killed in Rafah in 2003.
Hayb was sentenced to eight years imprisonment in 2005, and will have served six and a half years before being released due to good behavior.
The committee reportedly dismissed the military prosecutor's contention that the sentence reduction could adversely affect relations between Israel and the UK.
