Steinitz expresses hope Trajtenberg will pass

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz said on Sunday that he hopes that the Trajtenberg Committee's report will pass, saying details could be further discussed afterward, Israel Radio reported.
Steinitz reiterated his position that there was room to cut the defense budget, reallocating those funds to the education and welfare systems.
The finance minister noted that over NIS 12 billion have been added to the defense budget in the last four years in addition to the NIS 100 billion that approved by the Brodet report, which had approved the Defense Ministry's budget for at least a decade.
