Strong quake jolts eastern Japan; no tsunami warning

TOKYO - A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.5 jolted eastern Japan on Saturday morning, public broadcaster NHK said. The quake, at 7:43 a.m. (2243 GMT on Friday), was also felt in Tokyo.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warning was issued.
