Four family members were killed during an alleged Israeli airstrike overnight in the city of Hama in north-western Syria, according to SANA, the Syrian state media. According to SANA, the four were a father, mother and their two children. They also stated a woman, two children and another elderly woman were wounded and three civilian houses were destroyed
Syrian air defense systems were activated during the reported strike.At roughly 4:00 a.m. the alleged Israeli airstrike from the direction of Tripoli in Lebanon targeted sites in the Hama Governorate, a military source told SANA.
"At about four o'clock in the morning today, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression with a barrage of missiles coming from the direction of the Lebanese city of Tripoli, aiming at some targets in the vicinity of Hama governorate," Syrian state media said, citing a military source."Our air defenses confronted the enemy's missiles and downed most of them."
Loud explosions were reportedly heard in the area.
According to local Syrian reports, Israel tried to use the last remaining days of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in office to intensify its attacks on Iranian operatives situated in Syria.
