Trajtenberg congratulates Shechtman on winning Nobel Prize

Professor Manuel Trajtenberg, the chairman of the Higher Education Planning and Budget Committee, congratulated the Technion's Professor Dan Shechtman Wednesday on winning the Nobel Prize for Chemistry.
Trajtenberg said that Shechtman's win provides "enormous proof of the importance of investment in education, higher education and research...[These provide the] source of Israel's comparative advantage: human capital, creativity, scientific and technological innovation."
Trajtenberg said that Schetman joins the "most respected line of Israeli scientists who made far-reaching contributions to science, society, human progress, and our pride as a nation."
