Transport Ministry sends Gilad Schalit license renewal form

The Schalit family received a rather shocking example of Israel bureaucratic bungling and possible inconsiderateness on Sunday when they received an official notice from the Transportation Ministry asking their son Gilad to renew his driver's license.
The form stated that if Gilad, the kidnapped soldier held in Gaza for the past four years, did not renew his driver's license within six months it would become invalid.
Those close to the "Free Gilad" campaign responded by calling on the government to help free Gilad Schalit within six months so that he could fulfill the government's request that he renew his license before it expired.
