Turkish PM praises Egypt for recalling envoy from Israel

CAIRO - Turkey's prime minister, anoutspoken of critic of Israel, praised Egypt's Islamistpresident, Mohamed Morsi, on Saturday for recalling hisambassador from Tel Aviv in response to Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Egypt, which in 1979 became the first Arab state to sign apeace treaty with Israel, recalled its envoy on Wednesday hoursafter Israel launched an air campaign on Gaza. Turkey withdrewits ambassador over a separate incident with Israel in 2010.

"Israel is using disproportionate force. Netanyahu proceeds with these kinds ofactions thanks to the international negligence," Erdogan told anenthusiastic audience in a speech at Cairo University.
