LONDON — Britain's Ministry of Defense said a soldier has been killed by an explosion in Afghanistan.
The ministry said Sunday that the soldier was fatally injured on Saturday when a bomb exploded near the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province.
The soldier's name wasn't immediately released. He was a member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
He was the 349th British military or civilian defense worker to die in Afghanistan since 2001.
