UK temporarily suspends embassy in Tripoli

LONDON — Britain's Foreign Office said Saturday that it has temporarily suspended operations at its embassy in Tripoli in light of the worsening unrest there.
The ministry said in a statement that embassy staff left Saturday, with some fleeing Libya on a government-chartered flight.
It said the Turkish government will now temporarily represent British interests in Libya.
British Consul Lauren Johnstone will remain in Tripoli.
