US: Since Obama was candidate he ensured targeting of Osama

Snice US President Barack Obama was a presidential candidate he has ensured that the US "would revitalize the targeting of Osama bin Laden," Deputy National Security Adviser for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John Brennan said in a press conference on Monday evening.
"The president since before he was a candidate, had a very clear approach that if the US has actionable intelligence to high value terror targets and Pakistan did not act, that we would," Brennan told reporters. "[Obama] has ensured since he took office that [we] would revitalize the targeting of Osama bin Laden."
When questioned about the possibility whether bin Laden would be captured dead or alive, Brennan said "the goal was to prepare for all contingencies. If we had the opportunity to take him alive, we would have. The individuals involved would have done that. The intelligence was that bin Laden would oppose attempts to capture him...and he did that. But we were certainly prepared for the [remote] possibility of capturing him alive."
