Beersheba's District Court will rule Wednesday on whether Negev farmer Shai Dromi is guilty of manslaughter in the shooting of Khaled el-Atrash two years ago. In January 2007 Dromi shot at a group of people who broke into his farm to steal livestock, killing el-Atrash. Dromi's indictment caused a public uproar which led the Knesset to pass a law giving property owners more freedom to use fatal force against people who break into their homes, businesses or farms.
