Yesha Council head: PA threats to quit talks 'extortion'

Yesha Council chairman Danny Dayan on Saturday said that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's threats to leave peace talks with Israel if building in West Bank settlements continues constitute "extortion."
"It is known that the way to deal with extortion is not to appease, but rather to reject the extortionist's claims," said the leader of the umbrella organization for Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
"You need to remember that Abu Mazen's [Abbas] gun is not loaded, and negotiations are first and foremost in the Palestinian's interest," Dayan said.
