Yisrael Beytenu urges Anglos to support Tal Law alternative

Yisrael Beytenu on Sunday called on Israel's Anglo community to support the Tal Law alternative that the party was set to propose to the Ministerial Committee for Legislation later on in the day. Israel Beytenu also urged English-speaking divisions of other parties to encourage support for the bill within their parties.
“As Israelis who came from English-speaking and other Western countries, we came to Israel to contribute to its present and help defend its future. We should be at the forefront of pushing for an even share of the national burden. We have a voice and we call on Anglos in all political parties to support Yisrael Beytenu’s proposed IDF, National, or Civilian Service Law that could, with political will, be passed through the Knesset and finally rid us of the unfair and unequal Tal Law" the party's division for English speakers stated.
The Tal Law, which allows haredi (ultra-Orthodox) men to indefinitely defer IDF service and was recently invalidated by the High Court of Justice, is set to become the central issue in the upcoming election. Yisrael Beytenu is recruiting MKs to support its replacement for the legislation, which would require all 18-year-old men to enlist in the IDF or perform civilian service.
