Young woman claims boyfriend, friends beat her in the woods to abort fetus

A young woman was allegedly beaten in the stomach by her boyfriend after he discovered she was pregnant with his first child, Army Radio reported on Sunday. The woman described how her partner and three of their friends led her into the woods, bound her and beat her while they told her that they were trying to abort the fetus. The woman said she filed a complaint with police and immediately checked herself into a hospital. After examining the woman, who was in her first month of the pregnancy, medical officials said that the fetus was safe. Police told Army Radio that the four suspects had been detained and said they planned to submit a remand extension request at the end of the day.
