Zahalka: PM trying to gain 'cheap popularity with incitement against Arab sector'

Joint List MK Jamal Zahalka shot back at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday, labeling as "baseless" the premier's call to probe comments made by the Israeli Arab lawmakers about keeping Jews of the Temple Mount complex.
"Netanyahu is attempting to garner cheap popularity through incitement against the Arab sector and its leaders," Zahalka charged shortly after Netanyahu urged Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit to oversee the probe.
"I have the right to express my opinion," the Joint List MK said, adding that "Jews and Arabs have said the same thing. One can disagree with them, but Netanyahu has just turned to shutting the mouths of Arabs. I have one reply: We won't we silenced."
