Zuabi slams Turkel results, investigation methods

Balad MK Haneen Zuabi on Wednesday slammed the conclusions presented earlier in the week by the Turkel Commission. In a Knesset discussion, she said that if there was nothing wrong with the IDF@@@s actions on the Mavi Marmara, then "an international commission could have reached the same conclusion."
"If we were talking about a legal action against 1.5 million people who are all terrorists, then an international commission - the one created by the UN - would come to the same conclusion," she said referring to the Turkel Commission@@@s conclusion that the naval blockade on the Gaza Strip is legal.
Zuabi went on to question the need to "protect the soldiers" from international prosecution. She asked, If they didn@@@t "fire at point blank range, in the back, in the forehead, so why do we need to protect them?" "Maybe MKs need to protect IDF soldiers from themselves," she added.
Addressing more specific points of the Turkel Commission@@@s investigation into the flotilla incident, the Balad MK asserted that there was a need for "another question mark. Why didn@@@t they ask for the one-and-a-half-hour recording that tells everything? Why didn@@@t they ask?"
