Do you sport a milk mustache? According to a survey on Israeli dairy purchasing habits, 97 percent of Israelis do.
Bnei Brak-based charity organization Chasdei Naomi, published a survey on Monday showing that only three percent of the public does not buy any dairy products throughout the year.
The Rafi Smith Institute asked 500 about their dairy purchasing habits and how much they spend on average per month.
The results of the survey were separated into three segments: those who purchase under NIS 200 of dairy monthly, those who buy between NIS 201 and NIS 400, and those who buy over NIS 400. According to the findings, 36% of the population spends under NIS 100 on dairy monthly while 31% spend over NIS 400 monthly.
By gender, 33% of women said that they buy more than NIS 400 of dairy monthly while 30% of men responded the same.
Tel Aviv and Jerusalem had the highest percentage of people who spend under NIS 100 monthly , 47% and 37% respectively. Though the organization did not have a concrete answer for why this may be, they said it may be due to Tel Aviv’s high prices and Jerusalem’s large family sizes. The survey comes ahead of their special Shavuot food initiative that will provide 1,000 Holocaust survivors and elderly in Bat Yam with festive holiday products such as chocolate milk, cheesecake and other dairy items. Throughout the year, the charity distributes food to the needy, among them the elderly, sick, Holocaust survivors and poor IDF soldiers.
A spokesman for the organization told The Jerusalem Post on Monday that it regularly conducts surveys such as this in order to better understand the needs of the people it serves.
