Close to 1,000 people are expected to attend an inventors conference to be held in the Smolarz Auditorium at Tel Aviv University.

Sunday, September 2 FINANCE MINISTER Ronnie Bar-On and Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Hulda'i will attend a special event in the old railway station near Neve Zedek to hear from representatives of The Marker whom they consider to be the 100 most influential people on the Israeli economy. The by invitation only gathering will include most, if not all, the people on the list. Among them are Stanley Fisher, Lev Leviev, Matthew Bronfman, Nochi Dankner, Amos Shapira, David Weissman, Galia Maor, Yitzhak Tshuva, Arkadi Gaydamak, Noni Moses and quite a few people whose names may be less familiar to the general public, but whose clout is strong. Thursday September 6 CLOSE TO 1,000 people are expected to attend an inventors conference to be held in the Smolarz Auditorium at Tel Aviv University. The accent of the conference will be on the invention and not the inventor with numerous Israeli inventions on display as part of a demonstration of Israeli ingenuity. The conference under the auspices of the Israel Center of Inventors aims to get across the message that the Israeli economy would not be what it is today without the massive contribution of Israeli inventors. Participation in the conference is free of charge. The conference begins at 9 a.m. at the John Bryce Training Center, 16 Tiomkin Street, Tel Aviv. A MEMORIAL tribute to poet, political activist and partisan leader Abba Kovner will take place at the Bnei Zion auditorium, Beth Hatefutsoth, on the campus of Tel Aviv University at 5 p.m. Speakers will include Shlomo Lahat on behalf of Beit Hatefutsoth, Yehuda Bauer on behalf of Yad Vashem, Baruch Shuv chairman of the Organization of Partisans and Fighters against the Nazis, as well as several other prominent personalities. Friday, September 7 TO MARK the 30th anniversary of the Tel Aviv University Law Review, a conference based on a perusal of important court cases will be held at 10 a.m. in the Buchman Law Faculty on the TAU campus. Saturday, September 8 The International Institute of Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya will host the 7th Annual Counter Terrorism Conference, beginning Saturday evening September 8, and wrapping up on September 11 with a memorial service for all victims of terrorism from around the world. More than 70 experts from over 15 countries are confirmed as speakers and panelists for the conference including top academics, politicians and security professionals.
