For the second consecutive year, the Israel Electric Corporation has been chosen as the most desirable employer in the country, according to a survey carried out by Business Data Israel in collaboration with TheMarker. Partner Communications took second place, followed by Intel Israel, Bezeq and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries. The survey questioned 10,000 employees working at hundreds of companies to determine the 100 companies that are considered the best employers in Israel. The data showed for the second time in a row that the criteria which mattered most to employees when choosing their work place was the company's strength and stability. In second place, came job security situation followed by good working relations. Other criteria were payment conditions, accompanying benefits, advancement opportunities and, finally, in last place, home proximity. Rounding out the top 10 employers was Cellcom, followed by Bank Hapoalim, Strauss-Elite, El Al and Bank Leumi. The most striking improvements were found in the financial services sector. The increase in popularity was attributed to the successes by the bank workers' unions, which affected the banks' ratings and the boom in the financial sector leading to better salaries and worker satisfaction. In addition to Hapoalim and Leumi in the top 10, Bank Discount jumped from 49th place to 26th while Mizrahi Tefahot entered the list in 39th place, after not making it at all the year before. Clal Insurance secured the 36th place, up from 76th a year ago.
