The Histadrut labor federation has declared a labor dispute at Shufersal over the sale of the supermarket chain by Nochi Dankner-controlled IDB Holding Corp to his partner Bronfman Fisher Investments and Leo Noe.
The Histadrut has notified Danker and Shufersal CEO Effi Rosenhaus to open immediate talks with the Shufersal workers committee and Histadrut to settle the employees standing after the sale of the company.
The Histadrut has set two main demands: a sale bonus of NIS 12,500 per employee; and a guarantee of the employees’ safety net, specifically for the new owners to extend the collective labor agreements for several more years.
Citing an “urgent timetable”, the Histadrut gave Dankner and Rosenhaus until tonight to respond, “otherwise, we will have no choice but to apply the measures at our disposal.”
