Biscotti
Chef-pastry chef Rossella Yona created for the Biscotti chain ahead of the holiday a colorful and character-filled collection of hamantaschen. They are excellent, and the creativity is evident in the new fillings as well as the classics. Among the special flavors: Cinnabon – cinnamon dough with cinnamon pastry cream and icing; Brownies in Costume – cocoa dough filled with brownie cream and crispy crumble; and Candice – Belgian chocolate cream with colorful candies. Our favorite is Biscotti Lemon Poppy – rare, soft and melts in the mouth, with a perfect combination between the richness of the poppy and the freshness of the lemon. Price: NIS 49 for a 280-gram package.

Roladin
The Roladin chain presents hamantaschen that combine tradition and innovation. The buttery and crumbly dough, containing about 20% almonds and handmade, melts wonderfully in the mouth and is thin and light. The fillings are generous and creative, and in our tasting they received praise. In the classic category, hamantaschen are offered with poppy seed filling, dates with walnuts and aromatic spices, and chunky chocolate with chocolate chip pieces. Among the innovations: Berry marzipan in a freeze-dried raspberry crust, and an impressive XL version of salted caramel blondies with chocolate pecan. Price: NIS 4.50 for a regular unit, NIS 6 for coated, NIS 18 for the XL version.

Nola Bakery
The veteran American-style pastry café in the heart of Tel Aviv, Nola Bakery, brings a different scent for the holiday. The owner, Talya Resner, takes the traditional holiday pastry and dresses it in classic American flavors. The creative combinations received praise in our tasting, and our favorite is definitely the PB&J hamantaschen – peanut butter and strawberry jam. Alongside it are offered a S’mores hamantaschen with Nutella and marshmallow, and an Apple Pie hamantaschen with apples in butter and cinnamon. Price: NIS 10 per unit, NIS 45 for a package of 5 units.

Mimi
Mimi has handmade hamantaschen that excel in aesthetics. Hamantaschen made from short cream dough, crumbly and exactly sweet enough, with a rich filling in two classic flavors – chocolate and poppy. The uniqueness here is wheat flour-free hamantaschen. In our tasting both versions were excellent, with a pleasant crumbly texture and balanced flavor. Price: NIS 45 for a classic package (9 units), NIS 48 for a wheat flour-free package (9 units), NIS 7 per unit.

Haofim Haktanim
The Haofim Haktanim pastry shop presents the most unusual hamantaschen collection we tasted this year. The dough is excellent, thin and delightful, and serves as a base for special flavor combinations. In the Far East collection, Mango Coconut Chutney hamantaschen are offered, and Lemongrass Lime – an aromatic hamantaschen with lime pastry cream and pistachio touches. There are also hamantaschen that combine sweet and savory with sweet potato purée and charcoal-roasted chestnuts and black sesame. The combination of Far Eastern flavors is a tasty and surprising bite, but not everyone will connect to it. Price: NIS 6 for special and gluten-free hamantaschen, NIS 13 per 100 grams for classic hamantaschen.

Shani Confectionery
At Shani Confectionery they make hamantaschen with the right balance between filling and dough. The dough is wonderful – crumbly, not too sweet. In the classic category, hamantaschen are offered with poppy, nuts, dates and chocolate soufflé fillings. Among the innovations, interesting combinations such as Pistachio Raspberry, Halva Pecan and Chocolate Raspberry Soufflé. The confectionery also offers two sugar-free versions – nuts and poppy. Price: NIS 49 per box.

EATS
EATS confectionery presents hamantaschen made from thin dough with a good ratio between dough and filling. In the classic category, fillings of poppy, hazelnut praline brownies with Atlantic salt, and peanut butter raspberry – an interesting combination of sweet and salty. The innovation is the savory version offering an Italian Cacio e Pepe filling. The sweet ones as well as the savory ones were good, with quality dough that nicely complements the fillings. Price: NIS 6 per unit.

Goldy's
The Goldy's deli chain serves classic fillings such as chocolate, dates, brownies, pistachio and jam, alongside savory and surprising versions that have become identified with it: Hamantaschen filled with asado, and hamantaschen filled with chicken shawarma and market spices. The savory versions are a kind of rich sambusak pastry. Price: NIS 168 for a meat hamantaschen package (6 units), NIS 54 for a parve hamantaschen package (12 units), NIS 64 for a mixed package (12 units).

Boutique Central
The Boutique Central chain celebrates Purim 2026 with a particularly fun collection that maintains a high patisserie level alongside a wink. Among the innovations stand out the Clowns – a perfect double choux pastry in the shape of a clown, combining vanilla cream and strawberry crumble at the base, strawberry cream coated in white chocolate, and a ganache collar. The dessert is balanced, not too sweet, and has visual presence. Alongside the Clowns are offered the Masks – the boutique’s heart cookie filled with jam. Boutique Central’s hamantaschen have wonderful handmade buttery dough, and three classic flavors: Chocolate, poppy and strawberry jam based on almond butter. Price: NIS 3.50 per hamantaschen, NIS 34 per clown.

Shemo Confectionery
Chef-pastry chef Miki Shemo presents a Purim collection with a wide variety of hamantaschen. The highlight as usual is excellent yeast-dough hamantaschen – soft, airy and comforting. Alongside them are offered hamantaschen made from shortcrust dough with fillings such as poppy, nuts, chocolate and Medjool date, and also a sugar-free version. Also standing out in the collection is the Poppy Presburger Cake – a classic and indulgent yeast roll. Price: NIS 8 for a yeast-dough hamantaschen, NIS 49 for a box of regular hamantaschen.

Lehamim Bakery
Lehamim Bakery offers the most classic there is. The buttery and thin dough with ground almonds receives praise this year as well, and the rich fillings are freshly ground poppy cooked in milk, Belgian chocolate brownies, marzipan (“Napoleon’s Hat”) and pecan with almonds, and maple. In our tasting as well they received praise. Price: NIS 17.90 per 100 grams.

Metuka
The Metuka chain presents hamantaschen made from short and buttery dough with a surprising variety of fillings. The dough is tasty, not heavy and the size is perfect. In the classic category, hamantaschen are offered with freshly ground poppy cooked slowly on site, and dates with walnuts. The innovations include fillings such as rich almond marzipan, pistachio cream, salted caramel, nougat and chocolate fudge, and berry jam in reddish dough. The children especially loved the version with milk chocolate and colorful candies. In addition, the chain offers a vegan version. Price: NIS 47 per package.

BreadClub
The boutique bakery chain from Landwer brings a rich and indulgent interpretation of hamantaschen – an XL version in a special edition. The large and impressive pastries, some made from white dough and some from brown chocolate dough, are decorated with white chocolate, cookies and candies. In our tasting they were excellent – crumbly, with stable filling, and the chocolate on the outside wonderfully complements what is inside. Among the filling flavors: Nutella, Oreo, peanut butter, Lotus, salted pretzel and s’mores. Price: NIS 15 per unit.

Ma’afeh Ne’eman
The veteran Ma’afeh Ne’eman chain presents hamantaschen in a large variety of fillings. The dough is crumbly and melts in the mouth, and the ratio between price and quality is excellent. In the classic category, hamantaschen are offered with poppy filling, dates with delicate cinnamon seasoning, chocolate and dark chocolate ganache. Among the innovations, Dubai Chocolate – pistachio dough filled with chocolate and chopped kadaif strands, and Pecan Pearls – dough with candied pecan and praline cream filling. Price: NIS 38 per package (about 380 grams), NIS 8.90 per 100 grams in bulk.

Arcaffe
The Arcaffe café chain offers hamantaschen in a variety of fillings: Apple poppy, chocolate, ricotta, chocolate chip pastry cream, salted caramel, cornflakes pastry cream and white chocolate, and almond cream and strawberry-flavored pastry cream. The diverse fillings blend wonderfully into the delicate and refined crumbly dough. We especially loved the salted caramel and the strawberry pastry cream also received praise from the tasters. Price: NIS 5 per unit, NIS 55 for a package of 13 units, NIS 110 for a glass jar with 18 units.
