UK Green Party leader Zack Polanski signed an open letter calling for the government to investigate IDF veterans with UK citizenship and screen them at the border.

Polanski was one of several British politicians who joined the activist letter, calling on Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood and Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to crack down on IDF veterans.

Signing alongside him were Lord John Hendy and former parliament members Ayoub Khan, Diane Abbott, Iqbal Mohamed, Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell, Shockat Adam, and Zarah Sultana.

'Screening for war crimes' at UK airports

The letter, organized by Declassified UK and the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP), demanded that the UK implement airport disclosure requirements for IDF service, that Israelis, or those traveling from Israel, be subject to screening for war crimes, and that investigations and prosecutions of veterans and service members be conducted.

“Nobody wants to live next to a potential war criminal – not least members of the Palestinian community in the UK who have family or friends who have been subjected to war crimes,” read the letter.

A petition with identical wording was signed by almost 15,000 people as of Thursday evening.

In Instagram advertisements for the campaign, a representative of the organization claimed that the dual national veterans may have been responsible for a supposed genocide that ostensibly saw bodies being “literally vaporized.”

Declassified UK claimed that 2,000 UK-Israeli nationals served in the IDF.
