In January, the department ordered the Oakland Unified School District to send letters to families and staff condemning antisemitism and take several other steps. The lawsuit says the district failed
“Today’s heinous attack is a frightening and painful reminder that antisemitism continues to be a real and present threat to our Jewish communities,” Gary Torgow told The Jerusalem Post.
The arrested suspect is a man in his 20s who will remain under police custody and will be questioned during the evening.
For months, people in the US have dressed that slogan up as activism, outrage, or edgy protest. In West Bloomfield, Michigan, on Thursday, it looked like what Jews knew it meant all along: a threat.
