My history (100 words max): I was born in Montreal, Quebec and lived there for 19 years. My family moved to Toronto during the Summer of '99 due to the constant fear of Quebec separating from Canada. I continue to live and work in Toronto which has a vibrant Jewish and large Israeli population
Family history (100 words max): On my father's side, the family comes from Romania and Poland and left Europe to Canada before WWII. My mother's father is a Holocaust survivor who lost his family. Following the Holocaust he joined the Irgun and came to Israel on the Altelena. He served in the Israeli army during the war of Independence. My mother's mother was born in Alexandria Egypt and her family was forced to leave Egypt in '48 and went to Israel
My connection with Israel: My grandfather fought for Israel in 1948. My grandmother's family made aliya to Eretz Yisrael ( than controlled by the Turks) in the 1800s fleeing persecution in Algeria. They were agriculturalists the most notable member of the family Yehuda Bouskela who has a plack infront of his house in Zikron Yaakov
Defining moment: When I was 8-years-old and my grandfather took the entire family on a trip to Israel. It was my first time and I fell in love with the country
Daily routine: 6:00 - wake up, shower
7:00 - Leave for work
8:00 - Arrive at work
5:00 - Leave work
6:00 - Dinner
7:00 - Watch T.V.
10:00 - Sleep
On Friday night, I... Have Shabbat Dinner with family
Comfort food: Cheese Danish
Last book I read was: The Case for Peace by Alan Dershowitz (read his JPost blog)
My mentor: My grandfather Lawrence Jusko who survived the Holocaust, fought for Israel, and made a succesful life in Canada
