Delays in passing the state budget could prevent the inclusion of drugs for patients with life-threatening diseases in the basket of health services, Israel Medical Association chairman Dr. Yoram Blachar wrote to Finance Minister Ehud Olmert on Sunday.
The basket is updated upon recommendation of a public committee at the end of the year, but if additional funds are not allocated the new drugs cannot be included, Blachar said.
