In recent years, we have been witnessing an interesting phenomenon: Awareness of health, balanced nutrition, consumption of natural products, and moderate self-care is increasing and overtaking the “excessive” trends that were once so popular.

In principle, it seems that trends in fashion and appearance are connected to “top-down” activation – companies with interests that manufacture products and use celebrities to distribute them. But this time something has changed.

The current trend, which seeks a natural look, stems in my opinion from a simple reason: Wild exaggeration in the use of fillers and Botox, which led to a grotesque and ridiculous appearance. Generation Z understood the manipulation that was done to it and moved from over-injections to treatments whose goal is to preserve youth and prevent aging, but without unnecessary exaggeration.

What is lip dissolution anyway?

The term “lip dissolution” is a general name describing the reduction of lip volume after injection. When the injected material was non-dissolvable, such as silicone or non-absorbable fillers – this involves surgery that requires general anesthesia. In contrast, if the injected material was dissolvable, the dissolution is done by injecting an enzyme known as Hyalase or hyaluronidase, which dissolves the hyaluronic acid that was injected into the lips.

Silicone implants – not dangerous, but not always necessary

Placing implants, or silicone implants, in the body is not a dangerous procedure at all. Many women still undergo breast augmentation or breast lift surgeries with silicone implants with me. At the same time, for another group of women whose bodies have had silicone implants for ten years or more, or whose bodies have undergone changes with age, there are indications to remove or replace the implants.

My recommendation to women is to try to live their fourth, fifth, and later decades of life without implants. Many Israeli women who had implants placed in their teens and twenties, went through pregnancies and breastfeeding with the implants, and may have gained some weight, can enjoy life without implants. It also looks more toned and fits in with the natural health trend.

Most women are afraid of implant removal, usually out of a mistaken belief that a chest without implants will look more sagging or empty. In many cases this is a mistake, and the rate of women satisfied with the removal exceeds 90 percent.

What do you do instead of injections?

Instead of injections and attempts to lift the face through volumes and swelling – whose effect on facial appearance is not successful in the long term – most women are offered treatments of two types, which are determined not by age but by the condition of the face.

The first type deals with skin quality: Laser treatments, tightening using advanced medical technologies, regenerative treatments, and more. These are treatments that improve skin texture, renew it, and give it a fresh and youthful appearance.

The second option is facial rejuvenation surgeries. For each age and condition, the appropriate surgery is tailored; these surgeries offer long-term results and a natural appearance, in accordance with the clean trend that is gaining momentum.

What is more expensive – being natural or injected?

Anyone who wants to achieve a more natural look in the lip area will find it cheaper to stop injecting. Lip dissolution will cost more than a syringe of hyaluronic acid. On the other hand, breast augmentation by adding implants will cost more than removing them because of the price of the implants.

In terms of recovery, it is the same thing, since there is no real recovery from injection or lip filling, and also from implanting and removing silicone implants from the chest.

The bottom line is clear: Today the public understands that naturalness is not just a trend – it is a healthier approach, a more aesthetic one, and ultimately also more cost-effective in the long term.
