These days, when we are all looking for ways to strengthen the body (and the mind), it is worth paying attention to simple combinations that will help the body better absorb all the nutritious benefits in our food. So we all already know that it is advisable to eat fruit together with almonds to slow sugar absorption.

But why is it important to eat carrots specifically with nuts? And what do you gain if you combine tomato sauce with olive oil? What other combinations will enhance absorption?

Important combinations to enhance absorption:

1. Carrots with nuts to enhance absorption: If you are snacking on carrots just like that in the middle of the day, perhaps because they are good for the eyes... Pay attention: Vitamin A is absorbed in the presence of fat, and therefore it is advisable to snack on it together with nuts/almonds. In every meal that contains orange vegetables, it is advisable to also combine nuts/quality oil to increase the absorption of this vitamin. To conclude, something else worth knowing: Vitamin A is the most important for the immune system and helps prevent viruses from entering the body.

2. Tomato sauce with olive oil: Tomatoes contain a huge amount of lycopene, which is an antioxidant that is important against various types of cancer (mainly prostate cancer) and against cataracts. Lycopene is more available to the body from cooked tomatoes than from fresh tomatoes, but – another thing that increases the absorption of lycopene is fat. And what is more suitable to combine in our pasta sauce than fresh and high-quality olive oil? So not only for taste, also for maximum absorption, add a teaspoon of olive oil to your pasta sauce.

3. Yellow cheese toast with red pepper: Red pepper has the highest amount of vitamin C, which is important not only for the immune system, but also for the absorption of calcium from food. Because yellow cheeses contain a lot of calcium, it is advisable to combine in the toast or alongside it a few strips of red pepper, and thus more calcium will be absorbed into the body.

4. Vegetable omelet with spinach:
In vegetables and also in spinach there are important antioxidants called lutein, which is important for eye health and for preventing various eye diseases.

The fat in the egg yolk is required for the absorption of lutein. Do not forget: The green leaves also contribute to increasing the volume of our omelet, add dietary fiber, and make it more filling. Note: Because spinach contains a substance that absorbs minerals like iron and calcium and does not allow them to be well absorbed in the body... it is not advisable to add yellow cheeses to such an omelet.

So to conclude: We may be eating under stress, but it is worth getting the maximum – if the body receives all the vitamins and antioxidants it needs, it is easier for it to cope with the ongoing feeling of stress.
