South Korea declared dust is a social disaster on Wednesday, Korea Times reported.
The National Assembly passed a bill on the issue, meaning that the state will be able to ear-mark funds to deal with the issue.
In March, South Korea suffered suffocating levels of fine dust in the air for seven straight days.
A Korean delegation will be sent to China, which many think is the source of at least some of the dust, and facial masks will be given free of charge to those who can’t afford them.
President Moon Jae-in called for air purifiers in schools and care centers as well as fossil fuel burning factories to close in the future.
