29 dead in Peru after bus plunges into Andes river

At least 29 people have died in Peru's Andes after a passenger bus went off a road and fell 300 feet into a river. Police Col. Jose del Rio says the bus plunged in the Canete river about two hours before it was due arrive at its destination in the city of Yauyos, 90 miles southeast of Lima. Del Rio says 29 people died, 15 were injured and four survived unharmed. The cause of Wednesday's crash is still under investigation. Deadly bus crashes are common in Peru, where domestic routes are poorly regulated and highways are poorly maintained.
