3,000 in Bern protest Lebanon offensive attacks

About 3,000 people demonstrated in the Swiss capital on Saturday against Israel's military action in Lebanon, authorities said. The demonstrators, marching with Lebanese and peace flags, demanded an immediate cessation to the fighting between Israel and Hizbullah and the end of armaments trade between Switzerland and the Jewish state. Bern's city police said the demonstration occurred peacefully. There were no arrests or reports of property damage. Demonstrators also criticized the United Nations, the United States and the Swiss government.
