5 more foreigners detained in Olympics protest

Five foreigners were detained by police Friday when they unfurled a "Free Tibet" banner near a Beijing Olympics billboard in the latest unauthorized protest during the games in the Chinese capital, an activist group said. Kate Woznow of Students for a Free Tibet said two of the demonstrators climbed up on the still under-construction headquarters of state-owned China Central Television in east Beijing to hang the banner, while three others below watched. They were three Americans, one Briton and a Canadian, the group said. Wang Wenjie from the Beijing Public Security Bureau said he did not have any information on the protest and said he needed written questions before he could comment.
