A mini-bus and a railroad locomotive collided Monday in the capital of Tajikistan, killing nine people, officials said.
Several other passengers on the mini-bus were injured and taken to area hospitals, said Khabibullo Munavvarov, a spokesman for the country's automobile safety agency.
It was not immediately known how many people in total were on the mini-bus, one of many that act as fixed-route taxis in Dushanbe.
Munavvarov said a preliminary investigation indicated the mini-bus' driver was at fault.
