Ahmadinejad lauds China's support for his country's nuclear program

Iran's hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday praised China's backing for his country's contentious nuclear program during a visit by Beijing's foreign minister. Yang Jiechi held talks with Ahmadinejad and Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, reported the state IRNA news agency. IRNA said that in the meeting, Ahmadinejad praised "China's support" on the international scene for the Iranian nation's nuclear rights, and said that Iran would also support China in all international spheres. The report said Ahmadinejad insisted on the "resistance by Iran and its friends" in the face of the oppositions to Iran's nuclear program _ meaning the United States and its allies.
