An alleged former Nazi guard is expected to be deported in the coming days from the United States to Germany, the Germany Justice Ministry said Thursday.
John Demjanjuk, a Ukrainian immigrant who turns 89 on Friday, is accused in a German arrest warrant of 29,000 counts of acting as an accessory to murder while working as a guard at a Nazi death camp during World War II.
He now lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
Justice Ministry spokesman Ulrich Staudigl said that Demjanjuk is expected to arrive in Munich on Monday.
