Blast kills 10 soldiers, 2 others in eastern India

A roadside blast killed 10 paramilitary soldiers and two others Thursday in restive eastern India, police said. Police suspect communist rebels were behind the blast, which killed a child and a driver in addition to the soldiers, local police official Rahul Sharma said. The explosion occurred in Dantewada district, about 350 miles (560 kilometers) south of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh state.
