Bomb near Sri Lankan capital kills at least 5

A suicide bomber killed at least five people in a blast near the Sri Lankan capital Sunday, police said. The attack happened in Wattala town, a few kilometers from Colombo on Sunday morning, police spokesman Ranjith Gunasekara said. He gave no other details, but said there could be more deaths and casualties. Gunasekara did not say who was suspected to be behind the blast and no one claimed responsibility. Sri Lankan authorities have accused Tamil separatist rebels for suicide bombings in the past.
