Dozens injured in explosion north of Baghdad

More than 100 people were hospitalized Tuesday complaining of breathing problems after a fuel tanker exploded north of Baghdad, police and medical officials said. At least one person died in the blast near Taji, about 20 kilometers northwest of Baghdad, said Mohammad Abbas, an emergency room overseer at Kazmiyah Hospital. People treated at Kazmiyah and other hospitals said they had trouble breathing and were vomiting, but the cause was not immediately known, he said. Chemical experts collected samples from the tanker and conducted air tests. Among those hospitalized were dozens of children, Abbas said.
