Five killed in bus crash in southern Spain

At least five people died and twenty others were injured Monday when a bus crashed on a highway in southern Spain, firefighters said. The accident happened near the town of Lopera in the province of Jaen, about 350 kilometers (217 miles) south of Madrid, when the bus veered off the highway and overturned, said Juan Carlos de Dios, a firefighters' spokesman, on private TV station CNN+. De Dios said the vehicle was 50-seat bus traveling from Madrid to Jerez de la Frontera. The injured were taken to hospitals and De Dios said firefighters were working to rescue some passengers still trapped inside the bus.
