Mauritania arrests 3 for helping alleged killers of 4 French tourists

Authorities in Mauritania have detained three people accused of helping the suspected killers of four French tourists flee the country, officials said. The three allegedly ferried the killers in a canoe across a river that borders Senegal near the Mauritanian town of Boghe, said public prosecutor Mohamed Ould Bakar. They were arrested midweek, he said. Security forces in Senegal have also been searching for the three suspects who allegedly carried out the attack but so far no arrests have been made there and the whereabouts of the attackers are unknown.
