Muslim extremists protest against Danes in Jakarta

Around 70 hardline Muslims threw eggs at the office block housing the Danish Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Friday to protest the publication of caricatures of Muhammad in a Danish newspaper. They also took down the Danish national flag and burnt it in a public demonstration of rage. They later stopped briefly outside an Indonesian newspaper which ran one of the cartoons on its website on Thursday to illustrate a story on the uproar generated by them elsewhere in the Muslim world. Editors of Rakyat Merdeka met some of the protesters, but it was not known what they told them.
