Officials: ElBaradei to visit Pyongyang in March

North Korea and the International Atomic Energy Agency have agreed that March 13 should be the starting date for a two-day visit by IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei, UN officials said Friday. ElBaradei had announced a week ago he plannned to go to the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. It is part of the six-nation agreement under which North Korea agreed to allow a return of IAEA experts as part of its commitment to eventually scrap its nuclear program in exchange for economic aid and security assurances. The exact timing of the visit had not previously been made public, although March 13-15 had been discussed as tentative dates.
