Qatar offers UNSC compromise in Israel-PA crisis

Qatar distributed on Wednesday a revised draft proposal among the members of the United Nations Security Council, which suggests an end to the current Israeli-Palestinian crisis. According to the compromise, the Palestinians were to release Cpl. Gilad Shalit immediately and unconditionally, and Israel would withdraw its forces from the Gaza Strip. The new proposal voiced deep concern about the Kassam rocket launches at Israel, and condemned all acts of violence and terror, including the kidnapping and murder of 18-year-old Eliyahu Asheri two and a half weeks ago.
