A statement published by the US State Department on Friday reiterated the Quartet's demands that any Palestinian Authority government recognize Israel, renounce violence, and honor existing agreements with Israel.
The Quartet is scheduled to meet in Berlin in approximately two weeks to discuss the agreement reached by Hamas and Fatah at the Mecca summit.
