Report: Attack on Turkish military vehicle; 1 dead

News reports say assailants have attacked a military vehicle in eastern Turkey. The Anatolia news agency says the assailants opened fire Thursday on a vehicle that was patrolling a town in Sivas province. The report says one soldier was killed. The private Dogan news agency says a group of about 15 people attacked the vehicle. It says one soldier is missing. There's no immediate claim of responsibility. Rebels from the Kurdistan Workers' Party and outlawed leftist groups are active in the region.
