Report: Man wounded in explosion in Malaysia

A man was wounded after a pipe bomb exploded near a bank in eastern Malaysia, a news report said Sunday. Mohamed Radi Daud was walking to his car - parked in front of the bank - when the explosion occurred late Saturday in Mentakab town in eastern Pahang state, the national news agency Bernama said. He sustained injuries to his thigh, according to the report, which did not say how serious the injuries were. District police chief Sharifuddin Abdul Ghani was quoted by Bernama as saying shotgun ammunition was used for the explosives in the pipe. A four-hour sweep of the area found no other explosive devices, Sharifuddin said, according to Bernama.
