Report: Pakistani prime minister escapes assassination attempt

Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani escaped an assassination attempt on Wednesday after shots were fired at his motorcade in Islamabad, Pakistan. According to the spokesperson for the prime minister, "Multiple shots were fired ... the prime minister is safe." A security official said the shots were fired from a hill nearby. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
